一高遠町之儀は辺土ニ御座候ニ付在ニ迚も
山方勝ニ御座候故商等も格別薄御座候
漸々在々産物持出諸用相違申候ニ付
右代物少々宛取集荷物出来候節
中馬江以駄賃相渡飯田辺は不及申
尾州三州辺江差出先方以相場
売払右代金ニ而此方入用之荷物
相調則中馬戻荷物ニ仕前々ゟ通用
仕来飯田往返之儀は不及申尾州

一、高遠町の件につきましては辺境の地にございますため、在郷といっても山間部が多くございますので、商売なども格別に少のうございます。ようやく在郷の産物を持ち出し、諸用を調達いたしますにつき、その代物を少しずつ取り集めて荷物ができました節に、中馬へ駄賃を渡して飯田辺りは申すに及ばず、尾張国・三河国辺りへ差し出し、先方の相場で売り払い、その代金でこちらで入用の荷物を調達し、すなわち中馬の戻り荷物にして、以前より通用してまいりました。飯田往復の件は申すに及ばず尾張国

Item: Regarding Takato town, as it is located in a remote border region, even the rural areas are predominantly mountainous, so commerce is particularly limited. We gradually transport local products and procure various necessities. When we have accumulated enough of these goods to form cargo loads, we pay transport fees to pack horse operators (chūma) and send goods not only to the Iida area but also to the Owari and Mikawa provinces, where we sell them at local market prices. With the proceeds, we procure goods needed locally, which then become return cargo for the pack horses - this has been our established practice from long ago. Not only for round trips to Iida, but also to Owari province
