御上米御改之由ニ而八日
松本御泊りニ而同九日
松嶋宿御泊り之由尤
飯嶋御丁代之外松嶋
役人関川迄御出昨五日
木ノ下御泊りニ而御帰り
被成候御様子ニ付是悲
松本迄罷出聞合罷帰り
可申段申来り候ニ付其
段御役所え実状并ニ委細
之訳市郎兵衛殿申上候処
御沙汰之趣ハ不時御改ニ付
此方は万端文化四卯
年之通相心得其心掛ニ
致相待申候様被仰付候

一宮木村から四郎兵衛と伝右衛門の方から書状で申してきたことには、御上米御改のことで八日に松本に宿泊し、同九日に松嶋宿に宿泊するとのこと。もっとも飯嶋の町代以外に松嶋の役人も関川まで出向いて、昨日五日に木ノ下に宿泊して帰られた様子であるので、これは松本まで出向いて聞き合わせをして帰ってくる旨を申してきたので、その旨を御役所へ実情並びに委細の訳を市郎兵衛殿が申し上げたところ、御沙汰の趣旨は不時の御改につき、こちらは万端文化四卯年の通りに心得てその心掛けで待つように仰せ付けられた。すなわち左の通り書付を御渡し

A letter came from Shirōbei and Den'emon of Miyaki village stating that regarding the rice tax inspection (go-jōmai go-aratame), they would stay in Matsumoto on the 8th and in Matsushima-juku on the 9th. Besides the town representatives (chōdai) of Iijima, officials from Matsushima also went out to Sekigawa, and yesterday on the 5th they returned after staying in Kinoshita. Therefore, they said they would go out to Matsumoto to make inquiries and return. When Ichirōbei reported this situation and the details to the office, the official instruction was that since this was an unexpected inspection, they should conduct themselves in all matters according to the precedent of Bunka 4 (1807), the year of the Rabbit, and wait with that preparation in mind. Accordingly, a written notice was given as follows:
