現代語訳
青山佐五右衛門様のもとへ参上し、両人が帰参した旨を申し上げたところ、その聞き合わせの趣旨を頭書にして明朝差し出すようにとの御沙汰があり、畏れ入る旨を申し上げ候。なお、四郎兵衛・伝右衛門がお目にかかり、城下松本での聞き合わせの様子を詳しく申し上げ候。もっとも、しばらく休息した後、今晩中にも頭書を認めるようにとの御沙汰もございました。
十二月九日
一、今暁六ツ前（午前6時頃）より会所へ寄り合い、四郎兵衛・伝左衛門を呼び、松本での聞き合わせの趣旨を頭書にして、御役所へ六兵衛が持参し差し出し申し候。

We went to visit Aoyama Sagoemon-sama and reported that both men had returned. We were instructed to compile the details of their inquiries into a summary report (tōgaki) and submit it the following morning, to which we humbly acknowledged our compliance. Furthermore, Shirōbei and Denemon met with him and gave a detailed report about the inquiries conducted in the castle town of Matsumoto. We were also instructed to rest briefly and then prepare the summary report during the night.
12th month, 9th day
Item: From before the sixth hour of dawn (around 6 AM), we gathered at the meeting hall, summoned Shirōbei and Denzaemon, compiled the details of the Matsumoto inquiries into a summary report, and had Rokubei carry it to the government office for submission.
