琴（こと）三味（さみ）せんをひきが谷（やつ）油断（ゆだん）の
ならぬ娘（むすめ）の子（こ）は小袋坂（こふくろざか）でころび
三浦の片貝（かたかい）をうかむ瀬（せ）にして
滝（たき）のみの大さはぎ銀杏（いちやう）の木の
面影（おもかけ）は芝居（しばゐ）のやぐらの紋（もん）にのこり
て橘（たちはな）とたちならび朝はとうから
入り来（く）る〳〵桟敷のだんかづら
のぼりつめたるけはひ坂（ざか）春（はる）は
中の町（てう）に花をうへ秋（あき）は灯篭（とうらう）
にはかにはいひつくされぬ繁昌（はんじやう）
なりこゝに先年ふじの巻狩（まきがり）
のお馬を出せし町のほとりに
うろこやといふうとくなる町人（てうにん）
ありとしごろ鎌（かま）くらの諸大名（しよたいみやう））へ
お出入多くけふは梶原（かぢはら）様の御用
あすは和田（わだ）様の御酒（こしゆ）ゑんと草ずり
のひく手あまたなる中にも
北条家（ほうでうけ）の御 屋敷（やしき）へは久しいおお入
得意場（とくゐば）にて大殿（おほとの）時政（ときまさ）さまより
政（まさ）の字（じ）を下され政兵衛と名乗（なのり）
物前（ものまへ）などの御用をたせしが御用人
の佐野（さのゝ）源左衛門どのすかんぴんから
おとりたてにてにはかにおごりが
つき。いでその時の全盛（ぜんせい）はけはひ
坂にて指折（ゆひおり）の加賀屋の梅がへ
越中（ゑついう）屋の桜（さくら）井 上野（かうづけ）屋の
松ゑだといふ玉ぞろへを一 座（さ）に
て牽頭（たいこ）末社（まつしや）#1にいざなはれ酒宴
遊興にふけりしかばあげくの果（はて）
には北条（ほうてう）の家（いゑ）につたはる金（かね）の三つ

現代語訳
琴・三味線を弾く引ヶ谷、油断の
ならない娘の子は小袋坂で転び
三浦の片貝を浮かぶ瀬にして
滝口だけの大騒ぎ、銀杏の木の
面影は芝居の櫓の紋に残り
て橘と立ち並び、朝は早くから
入って来る桟敷の段葛、
登りつめた様子の気配坂、春は
仲の町に花を植え、秋は灯籠
にはとても言い尽くせぬ繁盛
なり。ここに先年富士の巻狩り
のお馬を出した町のほとりに
鱗屋という裕福な町人
あり。としごろ鎌倉の諸大名へ
お出入り多く、今日は梶原様のご用
明日は和田様のお酒宴と草摺
の引く手数多なる中にも
北条家のお屋敷へは長いお出入り
得意先にて大殿時政様より
政の字を下され政兵衛と名乗り
物品などのご用を果たしたが、ご用人
の佐野源左衛門殿、貧乏から
お取り立てにて急に驕りが
ついた。さてその時の全盛は気配
坂にて指折りの加賀屋の梅が枝、
越中屋の桜、上野屋の
松枝という玉揃えを一座に
て太鼓持ち遊女にいざなわれ酒宴
遊興にふけったので、挙句の果て
には北条の家に伝わる金の三つ

the Hōjō family mansion as a favored client, and from the great lord Tokimasa
he received the character "masa" and took the name Masabei,
fulfilling orders for various goods. The retainer
Lord Sano Genzaemon, rising from poverty
through patronage, suddenly became
arrogant. Now, at the height of his prosperity on Keihai
slope, he was among the finest - Kagaya's Umegae,
Etchūya's Sakura, Kōzukeya's
Matsueda - this collection of beauties in one gathering,
led by jesters and courtesans to wine parties
and pleasure-seeking, so that in the end
the golden three [scales] passed down in the Hōjō house...
