差上申証文之事
一 当村観音御林四反六畝廿歩東ハこも之沢
あらし通り岸はをね道通り西ハ甚左衛門
持分通り御林之由申上御案内いたし候
所紛無御座候然ルニ反歩御見分御考其上
古木之銀子又ハ御高札之立所寺ニ而西ノ
境不分明思召候段御不審之段御尤奉存候
依之御高札立所迄甚左衛門利兵衛九左衛門
四郎兵衛次郎右衛門五人之持分訳相立候迄ハ
御林ニ御定置可被成由得其意畏入候然上ハ
重而御願上訳相立候迄ハ持分と申上候百姓
山守ニ罷成御高札御定目之通り随分大
切ニ相守可申旨得其意奉存候為後日

差し上げ申す証文のこと
一、当村観音御林四反六畝二十歩について、東はこものの沢嵐通り、岸はおね道通り、西は甚左衛門持分通りまでが御林であると申し上げ、御案内いたしました所、紛れはございません。しかしながら、反歩を御見分・御考察の上、古木の銀子または御高札の立て所から寺にかけて西の境が不分明であると思し召される段について御不審の段、もっともと存じ上げます。これにより、御高札立て所まで甚左衛門・利兵衛・九左衛門・四郎兵衛・次郎右衛門の五人の持分の区分けが相立つまでは、御林として御定め置きになるべき由、その意を得て畏れ入ります。そうであれば、重ねて御願い申し上げ、区分けが相立つまでは持分と申し上げる百姓が山守となり、御高札・御定目の通り、随分大切に相守り申すべき旨、その意を得て存じ上げます。後日のため証文、よって件の如し。

Item: Regarding the Kannon protected forest (gohayashi) in our village, measuring 4 tan 6 se 20 bu, with boundaries to the east at Komono-no-sawa-arashi ravine, the bank at one ridge road, and to the west at Jinzaemon's allocated portion - we reported and guided you that this area constitutes the protected forest, and there is no confusion about this. However, after your inspection and consideration of the area measurement, your suspicion regarding the unclear western boundary from the ancient trees' silver markers or the location of the prohibition sign to the temple is quite reasonable, and we humbly accept this concern.
Accordingly, until the property divisions of the five individuals - Jinzaemon, Rihei, Kyūzaemon, Shirobei, and Jiroemon - up to the prohibition sign location are properly established, we understand and humbly accept that this area should be designated as protected forest. Under these circumstances, we will petition again, and until the divisions are properly established, the farmers who claim ownership will serve as forest guardians, and we understand and accept that we must carefully protect the area according to the prohibition signs and regulations. This document serves as proof for future reference.
