一 前々より被 仰付候御林竹薮御せい札御
法度之趣ハ不及申上此度御廻り被成御吟味之
上被 仰聞候趣承知仕候御林竹薮之内え
木之葉かき下草かり竹ノかわ拾ニ而も一切
入申間敷候猶又竹之子時分別而能竹子
出申様ニ垣ね等堅仕候而麁末ニ無御座候様ニ大切ニ
相守可申候若御林竹薮之内ニたをれ木風
折雪折竹御座候節ハ早々御注進可申上候
村役人山守薮たり共無断して自由成も
仕間敷候為後日名主組頭長百姓山守薮守

現代語訳
一、以前より仰せ付けられております御林竹藪の御制札、御法度の趣旨は申し上げるまでもございませんが、この度お回りになられ御吟味の上で仰せ聞かされました趣旨を承知いたしました。御林竹藪の内へは、木の葉かき、下草刈り、竹の皮拾いであっても一切立ち入り申すまじく候。なお、竹の子の時分は格別によい竹が出ますよう垣根などをしっかりと作り、粗末にございませぬよう大切に相守り申すべく候。もし御林竹藪の内に倒れ木、風折れ、雪折れした竹がございます節は、早々に御注進申し上げるべく候。村役人、山守、薮守といえども無断して勝手なことをいたすまじく候。後日のため、名主、組頭、長百姓、山守、薮守が判を押した証文、よって件の如し。

1. Regarding the government forest and bamboo grove prohibition signs and regulations that have been ordered from long ago, it goes without saying that we understand their purpose, but we have now acknowledged the instructions given after your recent inspection tour. We shall absolutely not enter the government forest and bamboo groves for any purpose whatsoever, including gathering fallen leaves, cutting undergrowth, or collecting bamboo bark. Furthermore, during bamboo shoot season, we shall construct proper fences so that good bamboo will grow well, and we shall carefully protect them without neglecting them. Should there be any fallen trees, wind-damaged trees, or snow-broken bamboo within the government forest and bamboo groves, we shall promptly report them. Even village officials, mountain guardians, and grove guardians shall not act freely without permission. For future reference, this certificate bears the seals of the village headman, group leader, senior farmer, mountain guardian, and grove guardian. Thus as stated.
