存候事
一 御竹薮壱ヶ所是又御案内仕候而掛御目ニ
候所村役人数年之間不吟味ニ仕候而薮守ニ
不申付而指置候故荒候段御不審御吟味之
通可申様茂無御座候自今は手かいせう仕候而
四方ニ垣ね等堅仕候而竹戻し入竹ノ子時分
猶又念入竹切ハ不及申ニ竹ノ子ニ取ニ入不申様ニ
随分念入可申候一両年之内ニ能キ竹薮ニ被成候
様ニ相心かけ可申候御竹薮之内竹之皮ニ而
も捨ニ一切入申間敷候事
右之通此度御林竹薮共ニ御吟味之上被
仰聞候上随分大切ニ相守御林竹薮之内風折
たをれ木雪折竹御座候節も早速御訴え
可申上候村役人ハ不及申山守薮守たり共
無指図而自由成儀仕間敷候為後日之名主
組頭長百姓山守薮守此度判形証文如件

存じ上げ候事
一、御竹藪一ヶ所、これもまた御案内致しましてお目にかけました所、村役人が数年の間吟味を怠り、藪守に申し付けないで放置していた故、荒れてしまった段、御不審の御吟味の通り申し上げる様もございません。今後は手入れを致しまして、四方に垣根等をしっかりと作り、竹を元に戻し、筍の時分にはなお一層念を入れ、竹切りは申すに及ばず、筍を取りに入らないように、随分念を入れて申すべきです。一両年の内に良い竹藪になされるように心がけて申すべきです。御竹藪の内、竹の皮でも捨てに一切入ってはなりません。
右の通り、この度御林・竹藪ともに御吟味の上仰せ聞かされた上は、随分大切に相守り、御林・竹藪の内で風折れ・倒れ木・雪折れ竹がございました節も、早速御訴え申し上げるべきです。村役人は申すに及ばず、山守・藪守であっても、指図なしに自由な儀を致してはなりません。後日のため、名主・組頭・長百姓・山守・藪守、この度判形証文、件の如し。

Article 1: Regarding one bamboo grove, we also guided you to inspect it, and when you examined it, the village officials had neglected their supervision for several years and had left it unattended without assigning grove guards, causing it to become overgrown. We have no excuse for the suspicious matters revealed in your investigation. From now on, we shall maintain it properly, construct solid fences on all four sides, restore the bamboo, and during the bamboo shoot season, we shall be even more diligent. Not only shall we refrain from cutting bamboo, but we shall also ensure that no one enters to harvest bamboo shoots, being extremely careful in this regard. We shall take care that it becomes a good bamboo grove within a year or two. No one shall enter the lord's bamboo grove even to discard bamboo husks.
As stated above, since you have investigated both the lord's forest and bamboo grove on this occasion and given us your instructions, we shall protect them with utmost care. Even when there are trees broken by wind or fallen, or bamboo broken by snow within the lord's forest and bamboo grove, we shall immediately report it to you. Not only village officials, but even mountain guards and grove guards shall not act freely without instructions. For future reference, the village headman, group leaders, senior farmers, mountain guards, and grove guards affix their seals to this document as witnessed.
