不申麁末ニ而罷成候段御不審之通可申様も
無御座候自今村中男女子共迄堅申付候而
御林之内柴かりハ不及申木之葉かき等ニ而も
入申間敷候若入候於見逃聞逃ニ仕候而重而
御改之節申訳於難立ニハ山守ハ不及申村役人迄
何分ニも可被仰付候或ハ御林之内風折たおれ木
御座候節ハ是又早速御訴可申候村役人
山守たり共無御断して内所ニ而自由成義

一 諏方形村御竹薮壱ヶ所懸御目申候通場所違
相違之義も無御座候弥以四方垣ね等堅仕候而
竹之子時分猶又念入大切ニ可仕候若又竹薮之内
雪折竹かれ木ハ不及申竹之かわ捨【拾の誤りヵ】ひニ而も一切
入間敷候事
右之通此度御廻り御改御吟味之上被仰聞候通
一々承知仕候村中惣百姓男女子共迄随分一切ニ
現代語訳
申し訳なく、粗末になってしまった件について、ご不審の通り申し様もございません。今後は村中の男女子供に至るまで堅く申し付けて、御林の内での柴刈りは申すに及ばず、木の葉かき等であっても入ってはなりません。もし入った者を見逃し聞き逃しをして、重ねて御改めの節に申し訳が立たないことになりましたら、山守は申すに及ばず村役人まで、どのような処分でもお申し付けください。あるいは御林の内に風折れ・倒れ木がございました節には、これもまた早速お訴え申します。村役人・山守であっても、お断りなしに内々で勝手なことはいたしません。
一 諏方形村の御竹藪一ヶ所、ご覧に入れました通り場所違い・相違の義もございません。いよいよ四方の垣根等を堅固にして、竹の子の時分にはなお一層念を入れて大切にいたします。もしまた竹藪の内の雪折れ竹・枯れ木は申すに及ばず、竹の皮拾いであっても一切入ってはなりません。
右の通り、このたびお回り・お改め・ご吟味の上でお聞かせくださった通り、一々承知いたしました。村中総百姓男女子供に至るまで、随分一切に

We have no excuse for the inexcusable neglect that has occurred, and we cannot offer any justification for your well-founded suspicions. From now on, we will strictly order everyone in the village, including men, women, and children, that they must not enter the lord's forest for brushwood cutting, let alone leaf gathering. If we overlook or fail to hear of anyone entering, and consequently cannot provide an adequate explanation during future inspections, please impose whatever punishment you see fit not only on the mountain guards but also on the village officials. Should there be wind-fallen or toppled trees within the lord's forest, we will immediately report this as well. Even village officials and mountain guards will not act freely in private without your permission.
One: Regarding the one location of the lord's bamboo grove in Suwagata village that we showed you, there is no error in location or any discrepancy. We will make the surrounding fences even more secure, and during bamboo shoot season we will be especially careful and protective. Furthermore, no one shall enter the bamboo grove for any purpose, whether for snow-broken bamboo or dead wood, let alone for collecting bamboo sheaths.
