聞候趣一々承知仕候事
一 当村御林之義唯今迄山守も無御座村中役人
守之由申上候所ニ不吟味之仕方ニも依之此度
御詮儀之上御林守相定申上候随分御林大切ニ
相守柴かりハ不及申木葉かき等ニ而も堅入申
間敷由被仰聞畏入存候然上ハ唯今迄段々
御林等も荒申ニ付自今苗木等のたち御林
随分茂り申様ニ相守可申候若御林之内ニ
風折たをれ木御座候共早々御断可申上候
村役人山守たり共無御断してむさと自由成義
仕間敷候若相背申候ハヽ御吟味之上山守ハ不
及申村役人共迄何分之曲事ニも可被仰付候
為後日名主組頭長百姓山守共判仕差上

聞きました趣旨を一つ一つ承知いたしました
一 当村の御林の件について、ただいままで山守もおらず、村中の役人が守っているということを申し上げましたが、不吟味の仕方にも依るということで、この度御詮議の上、御林守を決めて申し上げました。できるだけ御林を大切に守り、柴刈りは言うに及ばず、木の葉掻き等であっても固く入ってはいけないと仰せ聞かれ、恐れ入って存じます。そうなりましたからには、ただいままで段々御林等も荒れてしまったので、今後は苗木等が立ち、御林ができるだけ茂るように守ってまいります。もし御林の内に風折れ・倒れ木がございましても、早々に御断り申し上げます。村役人・山守であっても、御断りなしに無作法に自由なことをしてはいけません。もし背いた場合は、御吟味の上、山守はもちろん村役人共まで何らかの曲事として仰せ付けられるでしょう。後日のため、名主・組頭・長百姓・山守が共に判を押して差し上げるものです

Item: Regarding the protected forests of our village, we reported that until now there have been no forest guards and that the village officials have been protecting them, but due to inadequate supervision methods, this time after deliberation, we have appointed and reported forest guards for the protected forests. We have been told to protect the forests as carefully as possible, and that entry is strictly forbidden not only for gathering brushwood but even for raking fallen leaves, which we humbly acknowledge. Given this, since the protected forests have gradually become desolate until now, from this point forward we will protect them so that saplings will grow and the forests will flourish as much as possible. Even if there are trees broken or fallen by wind within the protected forests, we will promptly report them. Even village officials and forest guards must not act freely and rudely without permission. If anyone violates these rules, after investigation, not only the forest guards but also the village officials will be subject to whatever punishment may be imposed. For future reference, the village headman, group leaders, senior farmers, and forest guards jointly affix their seals and submit this document.
