土蔵を建て、田畑を購入し、当時の石高は四、五石余りにもなったということですが、去る戌年には私の方から譲り置いた数年分の株を割って切り置いた石は言うまでもなく、石切道具その他家財諸道具等まで大まかに売り払って金子にして帰国いたしましたが、私の方へは何の連絡もなく金子を遣わしません。そのため度々催促いたしましても埒が明かないので、右の請負人である三郎右衛門の方へ右の件を申し立てたところ、三郎右衛門の仲裁でわずか金五両で決着してくれるよう申しましたが、大分の金子や諸道具も多分にございますので決着は難しいと存じます。恐れながら積み置いていた石並びに諸道具等を別紙にて調査していただきたく存じます。

He built a storehouse, purchased rice fields, and his assessed rice yield at that time amounted to four or five koku or more. However, in the recent Year of the Dog, he sold off not only the stones that had been cut and stockpiled from the concession rights I had transferred to him over several years, but also roughly disposed of the stone-cutting tools and other household goods and implements, converting them to money before returning to his home province. Yet he sent no money to my household and gave no word of explanation. Therefore, despite my repeated demands, when no resolution was forthcoming, I appealed this matter to the aforementioned guarantor Saburoemon. Saburoemon then proposed through his mediation that the matter be settled for a mere five ryo in gold. However, given that there was a considerable amount of money involved and numerous tools and implements, I believe such a settlement would be difficult to accept. I humbly request that the accumulated stones and various tools and implements be investigated through the separate document attached.
