右之願書於御役所ニ十三日御用初メニ付
御取次ニ而差上申候所直ニ御渡被下則罷帰り問屋へ
差遣申候
乍恐以口上書奉願上候御事
私義不調法者ニ御座候処丁代御役蒙 仰
難有仕合奉存相勤罷有候処不勝手ニ付
御役義難相勤奉存候依之 御赦免
被成置候様奉願上候

右の願書について役所において十三日の御用始めに付き、お取り次ぎによって差し上げ申し上げたところ、直ちにお渡しくださり、すぐに帰って問屋へお渡し申し上げました。
恐れながら口上書をもってお願い申し上げる事
私は不調法者でございますが、丁代の御役を仰せつかり、ありがたい仕合いと存じ相勤めておりましたが、不如意につき、御役義を勤め難く存じます。ついては御赦免くださいますようお願い申し上げます。

右の趣、御慈悲をもってお願い申し上げます通りお仰せ付けくださいましたなら、ありがたい仕合いに存じます。以上

I am an incompetent person, but having been appointed to the position of chō-dai (town representative), I considered it a grateful fortune and have been serving in this role. However, due to financial difficulties, I find it difficult to continue serving in this official position. Therefore, I humbly request to be pardoned from this duty.
