明九日理左衛門病気ニ候ニ付名代差出候様御手紙参り九日四ツ時甚右衛門名代ニ
相頼庄蔵も差出候所於御広座敷会計掛り矢嶋彦六殿御沙汰
御立合ニ而御仕送山下須蔵様松本弥平治様御趣席ニ而無滞御免被仰付
直ニ御局江両人共罷出候様被仰付於 局長会計大属阿野泰司様ゟ
厚奉蒙 御沙汰御役無滞御免被仰渡松平様ゟ御引渡シ御手紙
持参ニ而民政局江両人共罷出民政少属中山忠衛様ゟも厚奉蒙 御沙汰

乍恐以口上書奉願上候御事

右の願書について、正月八日の御向初めに付き、町付仕送り月番の正木甚右衛門殿が取り次ぎ、会計方御月番の松本弥平治様へ差し上げ申した。同日八つ時頃、松本弥兵治様から甚右衛門方へ、明日九日は理左衛門が病気につき名代を差し出すようにとの御手紙が参り、九日四つ時に甚右衛門を名代に相頼み、庄蔵も差し出した。御広座敷において、会計掛りの矢嶋彦六殿の御沙汰、御立合いにて、御仕送の山下須蔵様・松本弥平治様の御趣席において滞りなく御免許を仰せ付けられ、直ちに御局へ両人とも罷り出るよう仰せ付けられた。御局において、長会計大属の阿野泰司様から厚く御沙汰を蒙り、御役を滞りなく御免許になる旨仰せ渡され、松平様からの御引渡し御手紙持参にて、民政局へ両人とも罷り出た。民政少属の中山忠衛様からも厚く御沙汰を蒙り、筋町年寄役を滞りなく御免許仰せ付けられた。【朱書終】
恐れながら口上書を以て願い上げ奉る御事
町年寄役・御仕送役ともに厚く御沙汰を蒙り、筋願いの通り滞りなく御赦免を成し下し置かれ、重々ありがたい仕合いと存じ奉ります。これにつき、家督を息子庄蔵へ相譲り、隠居いたしたく存じ奉ります。それでは願い上げ奉ります。
右の趣旨について、御慈悲を以て願い上げ奉ります通りに仰せ付けられ下し置かれましたら、ありがたい仕合いと存じ奉ります。以上

Regarding the above petition, on the 8th day of the first month at the New Year ceremony, the monthly town messenger Masaki Jinuemon served as intermediary and submitted it to the monthly accounting officer Matsumoto Yaheiji. Around the eighth hour of the same day, a letter arrived from Matsumoto Yaheiji to Jinuemon's residence stating that since Risaemon would be ill on the 9th, a representative should be sent. On the 9th at the fourth hour, we requested Jinuemon to serve as representative, and Shōzō also appeared. In the large reception room, with the pronouncement of accounting officer Yajima Hikoroku and in attendance with messengers Yamashita Suzō and Matsumoto Yaheiji presiding, release from duties was granted without delay. Both were immediately ordered to report to the bureau. At the bureau, we received gracious pronouncement from Head Accounting Senior Clerk Ano Taiji that release from official duties was granted without delay, and with a transfer letter from Matsudaira, both reported to the Civil Administration Bureau. We also received gracious pronouncement from Civil Administration Junior Clerk Nakayama Tadae, and release from the district town elder role was granted without delay.【End of red writing】

In connection with this, I wish to transfer the family headship to my son Shōzō and retire. Therefore, I respectfully petition:
