右の者、昨年中の所作（功績・行い）につき、御救いのため、持てる資力をもって町代（ちょうだい）としての筋道を申し立て、先例に従い町代の筋を取り立てられ、苗字・帯刀を末永く免許され、御目見（おめみえ）を仰せ付けられ、平日は町代並みの御役として上下（かみしも）を賜るものとする。なお、この職務に励むべきものなり。

Regarding the above-named individual, in recognition of his conduct and contributions during the previous year — specifically, his efforts in providing relief by offering his financial resources — he is hereby appointed to the role of *chōdai* (town representative) in accordance with established precedent. He is granted permanent permission to use a family surname (*myōji*) and to wear a sword (*tōsashi*), and is granted the privilege of an audience (*omemie*) with the lord. In his daily duties, he shall be accorded the same rank as a *chōdai* and shall be provided with formal ceremonial dress (*kamishimo*). He shall continue to diligently fulfill these duties.
