The two *kogashira* (sub-officials) received the notification from the monthly duty officer (*tsukiban*), Hon'emon.
They appeared together with the surface officer (*omote-yaku*) Soichi.
In order to show the matter to all colleagues, on the following third day, Soichi was summoned to the town office (*machi-yakusho*) and the written order was handed over to him.
