右の者ならびに町内の治左衛門に不審な点があり、町代（まちだい）に鈴（呼び出し）を申し付け、その旨（を伝えたところ）、方（かた）は宅番（たくばん）として罷り在り候ところ、取り逃げ（逃亡）という不束（ふつつか）な行いがあったが、今度差し押さえとなったにつき、格別の御用捨（ごようしゃ）として、急度（きっと）この（沙汰に処す）。
八月晦日
右両人共の義、急度この御沙汰につき、御月朔日（おんつきついたち）より通勤致すよう、組頭伝右衛門へ申し渡し置き候。もっとも、公事方（くじかた）御両人へも、延勤（えんきん）致すよう申し入れ置き候。

Regarding the above-named individuals: there were suspicious circumstances concerning Jizaemon within the town, and the machidai (town representative) was summoned by bell (suzuri). It was reported that the party had been serving as a house guard (takunban), but then committed the improper act of fleeing. However, since they have now been placed under restraint, as a special act of leniency, they are hereby firmly subject to this ruling.

In accordance with this firm ruling regarding both of the aforementioned individuals, notification has been conveyed to kumigashira (group leader) Denzaemon that they are to resume regular duties from the first day of the coming month. Furthermore, it has also been communicated to both officials of the kujikata (judicial/administrative office) that extended duties are to be carried out accordingly.
