過料銭 弐貫文 二三郎
右は、横町・治左衛門が役所へ持ち込んだ品物を、鉾持村（ほこもちむら）の源治左衛門より買い取り、委細（いさい）は存ぜずといえども、不正の品を取り扱ったことは不埒（ふらち）につき、品物は元の持ち主（元方）へ差し戻し、過料銭（かりょうせん）を申し付け候。三日の内に相納めるべく候。
八月晦日
右、二三郎の儀は、今日まで勤め申し仕り候。
四通の御書付（おかきつけ）、同役（どうやく）に召され、並びに夫々（それぞれ）に相渡し申し候。以上。

Fine: 2 kanmon Nijirō
Regarding the above: the said Nijirō purchased goods from Genjizaemon of Hokomochi Village — goods that had been brought to the official office by Jizaemon of Yokochō. Although he claims he was unaware of the full details (isai), his handling of illicit goods is deemed improper and outrageous (furachi). Accordingly, the goods are to be returned to their original owner (motogata), and a monetary fine (karyōsen) is hereby imposed. The fine is to be paid within three days.
30th Day of the Eighth Month [August]
As for the said Nijirō, he has fulfilled his duties up to this day.
Four copies of this official notice (okakitsuke) have been summoned to the colleagues in the same office (dōyaku), and each copy has been duly distributed. Herewith concluded.
