【左丁】
近年、場所によっては人家が密集し、家屋を建てることが難しくなっているとも聞き及んでいる。そのため、便宜を図るために、今後は各方面において三階建ての家屋を建てることを差し支えないこととする。ただし、火災の際の消火・防火のため、階ごとに下屋根（庇）を設けるようにすること。また、差し障りのある場所において見通しが利くようになる箇所については、目隠し等を設けて見通せないようにすること。体裁を損なうような不都合なことのないよう心得るべきである。
右の趣旨について、公儀よりお書付が出たので、町中へ触れ渡すべきである。以上。

十七日に出たので、同役の者に見せるため、霜川へ渡した。

【Left folio】
In recent years, it has come to our attention that in some areas, houses have become so densely packed that constructing new buildings has become difficult. In order to provide greater convenience, henceforth the construction of three-story buildings shall be permitted in all areas. However, for the purposes of firefighting and fire prevention, a penthouse roof (lower eave / hisashi) shall be installed at each floor level. Furthermore, in cases where locations that were previously private become visible from such buildings, screens or concealing structures shall be installed so that such areas cannot be seen. Care shall be taken to ensure that nothing unseemly or improper results from this.
As the above has been issued by the shogunate (kōgi) in the form of an official written notice (o-kakitsuke), it is to be circulated throughout the town. The above is hereby stated.
Tenth month
As this was issued on the seventeenth day, it was delivered to Shimokawa for the inspection of colleagues of the same office.
