現代語訳
【右丁】
（前頁より続き）……上位の者を恐れないやり方は、重々不埒（ふらち）の極みであります。もとよりそのことは承知のことではありますが、今後、越訴をする者がいた場合は、訴えの内容の是非にかかわらず、その筋（担当の役所）へ下げ渡し、一通り取り調べの上、きっと厳しい刑罰を申し付けるものとします。それでもなお願い出たい筋のことがあれば、町役人たちの連印をもって、正規の手続きにより願い出るべきものとします。そのようにすれば、吟味（審議）の上、裁許（判決・裁定）を申し渡すものとします。もっとも、御規定の外れた（■■ 取り上げ難い筋）の事柄については、理解を促した上で差し戻すものとしますので、いずれも右の段をよく弁えて（わきまえて）申すべきものとします。

(Continuing from the previous page) …Such conduct that shows no deference whatsoever to one's superiors is an utterly outrageous impropriety. This has, of course, long been a matter of common knowledge; however, should there henceforth be any person who submits an etsuso (unauthorized appeal), they shall be handed over to the relevant authority regardless of the merits of their grievance, and after a standard inquiry, shall without fail be subjected to strict punishment. Should there nonetheless remain a matter they still wish to petition, they must do so through proper and legitimate channels, bearing the co-signed seal of the town officials (machiyakunin). If they proceed in this manner, a judgment (saikyo) will be handed down following due deliberation (ginmi). It should be noted, however, that matters which fall outside the established regulations — [illegible characters: cases difficult to take up] — shall be returned after an explanation is given. All parties are therefore to be duly informed of and comply with the foregoing.
