現代語訳

【左丁】

（関所にて）渡される切手（通行手形）に加印を行い、右の切手、または主人・重役等の断書（証明書）を所持していない者は通行させないこと。ただし、現在旅行中であって、今般触れ知らせた趣旨をも理解していない者については、よく取り調べた上で、怪しい点がなければ、右の切手を所持していなくとも通行させるものとする。

右の趣旨を、御料・私領・寺社領を問わず、漏れなく触れ知らせるよう取り計らうべきこと。

右の通り、公儀（幕府）より御書付が出されたので、町中へ触れ知らせるべきこと。以上。

(At the checkpoint,) an official seal shall be affixed to the travel permit (tegata/kitte) issued there; those who do not carry either said permit or a written declaration from their master or a senior official shall not be permitted to pass. However, those who are currently in the midst of travel and have not yet been informed of the intent of this newly circulated notice shall be thoroughly questioned, and if no suspicious circumstances are found, they shall be permitted to pass even without carrying said permit.

The foregoing provisions shall be communicated without omission, regardless of whether the territory in question falls under direct shogunal domain, private domain, or temple and shrine lands.

As the foregoing has been issued by the bakufu (public authority) in the form of an official notice, it shall be duly circulated throughout the town. The above.
