ただし、標札については姓名を記し、あるいは官名・役名などを記すことは差し支えない。
一、提灯、または陶器、その他の売り物などに、御紋（菊の御紋）を描くことは、いかがなものかと思われる。今後はこのような類いのもの（売り物等）に、御紋を私的に付けることは、厳しく禁止すべき旨、仰せ付けられた。
ただし、御用のために、これまで（御紋の使用を）許可されていた分についても、改めて一度お伺いを立てること。
以上のとおり仰せ出されたので、末々（すみずみ）まで漏れなく申し達すべきこと。

However, regarding signboards (hyōfuda): there is no objection to inscribing one's surname, or alternatively, one's official title or role name.
Item: It is considered highly improper that the Imperial Crest (go-mon) is being painted or drawn on lanterns, ceramics, and other items for sale. Henceforth, the private affixing of the Imperial Crest to such articles is strictly prohibited, as has been commanded.
However, even those who have previously been granted permission to use the Imperial Crest for official purposes (go-yō) must, without exception, submit a fresh inquiry to obtain renewed authorization.
The above having been commanded, this notice is to be conveyed without omission to all, down to the very last person.
