（前頁より続き）簡易にいたし、往来において下々（しもじも）への迷惑となるようなことのないよう、心得るべきものである。
中庸以上の者

右、四月十七日に御書付が出され、十八日朝、同役中より元行司袋村へ相渡し、十二町丁代元へ触れ渡し申し候。

【Translation】
(Continued from previous page) ...matters should be conducted simply and with minimal ceremony, and all parties should take care to ensure that those traveling along the roads are not caused undue inconvenience or hardship.
For those of middle rank (chūyō) and above:
Personal attendants (kinshū): up to 10 persons; hand-service staff (temawari):
up to 15 persons in total
For those of lesser rank (shōyō):
Personal attendants (kinshū): up to 6 persons; hand-service staff (temawari):
up to 10 persons in total
The foregoing has been issued as an official directive (as ordered from above).
Fourth Month (April)
The above-mentioned written directive was issued on the seventeenth day of the fourth month, and on the morning of the eighteenth day, it was passed along by fellow officials to Fukuromura (袋村), the original administrative office, and was then transmitted as notification to the representatives of the twelve town districts (jūni-chō).
