御斟酌之上自今一文

銅銭のことについて、現在各国（各地域）の相場を御斟酌（ごしんしゃく）の上、今後は一文をもって鎌銭（かまぜに）六文に通用するよう仰せ出されたことである。
右（の措置）については、これまでその（本来の）価値に見合う適正な取り扱いがなされてこなかったために、ともすれば奸商（かんしょう）どもが（銅銭を）異国・異邦へ輸出するという事態が生じている。よって、速やかに国内全域にわたって布告するよう仰せ付けられたことである。
三月 太政官
右の趣（おもむき）は、朝廷より仰せ出されたことであるので、町中へ相触れるべく候。以上。

Regarding copper coins (dōsen): after due consideration of current market exchange rates across the various provinces, it is hereby officially decreed that henceforth one mon (文) shall circulate as equivalent to six mon in kama-sen (鎌銭, a type of currency denomination).
The reason for the above measure is as follows: because up until now copper coins have not been handled at their proper value, unscrupulous merchants (kanshō) have consequently been exporting them to foreign lands. Therefore, it is hereby ordered that this proclamation be promptly disseminated throughout the entire realm.

As the foregoing has been decreed by the Imperial Court, this notice shall be circulated throughout the town districts accordingly. The above is hereby communicated.
