十月十五日、御役所にてお渡しになった。
将軍（大樹）薨去につき、上下ともに哀惜の情はお察しのことと存じます。よって、新田に関わる訴訟・公事は見合わせるよう、また、長州・防州（長防）との境界付近の地においては、それぞれ（甲々）引き払い、鎮定して静かに罷り在るよう、お沙汰がございました。
右の通り、公儀よりの御書付が出ましたので、触れ回されるよう、以上。
十月十五日、御（夫？）より本町へ相渡し候。

Received at the official office on the 15th day of the 10th month.
Regarding the passing (薨去) of the Shogun (Taiju), the grief felt by all, high and low, is well understood. Accordingly, an official notice has been issued that: lawsuits and disputes (公事) concerning new fields (新田) are to be suspended; and that in the territories bordering Nagato and Suō provinces (Chōshū domain), all parties are to withdraw and remain calm and settled.
As stated above, since this official notice (御書付) has been issued by the bakufu (公儀), please ensure it is duly circulated.
15th day of the 10th month — passed from the [official messenger?] to the main town (本町).
