右之者共儀去る九日雇

右の者どもの件について、去る九日、雇い人の霜町又三郎の宅において御禁制を犯した（博奕を行った）ため、捕らえて入牢を申し付けた。吟味に及んだところ、博奕の手合わせをしたことを恐れ入って認め申し立てたが、不埒につき、以下のとおり咎めの筋を申し渡す。
一、又三郎の件については、以前も度々博奕の手合わせをし、さらにまた手合わせをし、その上に（博奕の）宿（場所）を提供したことは重々不埒につき、過怠（の上）に加えて過料銭を申し付ける。
一、甚五兵衛の件については、先年にも不埒の義（があり）

Regarding the aforementioned persons: on the ninth of last month, at the residence of Matasaburō of Shimomachi, who had hired them, they were found to have violated the prohibition [against gambling], and were therefore arrested and ordered to be imprisoned. Upon investigation and interrogation, they admitted to having engaged in gambling, expressing remorse; however, as their conduct was improper, the following penalties are hereby pronounced:
One: Regarding Matasaburō — as he has repeatedly engaged in gambling on previous occasions, and has once again participated in gambling, and furthermore provided his residence as a venue [for gambling], his conduct is extremely improper; in addition to the reprimand [already given], a monetary fine is hereby imposed upon him.
