恐れながら口上書をもって願い上げ申し上げます。
一、金二十両
私どもは、従来よりご恩沢を蒙り、冥加至極ありがたく存じておりましたところ、恐れながらこの度、御上様が京都へご上京され、滞りなく御帰城されましたこと、恐悦申し上げます。その証として、恐れを顧みず、少額ながら献金いたしたく願い上げます。何卒ご許容くださいますなら、一同重々ありがたく存じます。以上。

Item: Twenty ryō in gold
We have long received your gracious benevolence, for which we are extremely grateful and feel most blessed. We humbly acknowledge that His Lordship has recently traveled to Kyoto and returned to the castle domain without incident, for which we respectfully express our joy. As proof of this sentiment, despite our trepidation and though the amount is modest, we wish to make a monetary contribution. If you would graciously permit this, we would all feel deeply grateful. The above concludes our petition.
