乍恐以書付奉願上候御事
一北大もち小久保すまほそ
ぼら柳沢桐ケ久保右名所
之所私共四五代以前之先祖
とも持林与相心得譲等仕
此度御林御改御越被成下段々
御尋御利解被成下候所唐木沢
御名所引当有之私共先祖
御山守請ニ候由初而承知仕
一言之申訳無之奉恐入候
何様ニも御見分之上御境江
御立被成下候御沙汰奉畏候私共
先祖如何心得違仕候哉譲
渡シ仕当時上嶋村今村所

恐れながら書付を持って願い上げ申し上げます件について
一、北大持・小久保・すまほそ・ぼら・柳沢・桐ヶ久保という名所の場所につきまして、私どもは四、五代以前の先祖たちが所有する山林であると理解し、譲渡等を行ってまいりました。この度、御林の御改めで御越しいただき、段々と御尋ねと御理解をいただいたところ、唐木沢という御名所に該当するものがあり、私どもの先祖が御山守を請け負っていたということを初めて承知いたしました。一言の申し訳もなく、恐れ入っております。
何様にも御見分の上、御境界へ御立てくださいます御沙汰を畏れ多く承ります。私どもの先祖がどのような心得違いをしたのか、譲り渡しをして現在上嶋村今村が所持している場所が御引き上げになるということでは、当の持主たちへも甚だ気の毒に存じますが、御趣意に適う儀でございますれば、拠り所がないと存じます。何卒この上は御慈悲を持って、上嶋村今村の持主たちが立ち行くよう、幾重にも御憐愍を願い上げます。以上

Respectfully, we humbly submit this written petition regarding the following matter:
Concerning the locations known as Kitaōmochi, Kokubo, Sumahoso, Bora, Yanagisawa, and Kirigakubo, we had understood that our ancestors from four or five generations ago possessed these forest lands as private holdings and had conducted transfers accordingly. During this inspection of the domain forests, when you came to conduct detailed inquiries and investigations, we learned for the first time that there was a correspondence with the domain location called Karakizawa, and that our ancestors had contracted as mountain guardians. We have no excuse whatsoever and are deeply ashamed.
We humbly accept your decree that boundaries will be established following your inspection. We do not know what misunderstanding our ancestors may have had, but if the lands that were transferred and are currently held by Kamishima Village and Imamura are to be reclaimed, we feel great pity for the current landholders. However, if this accords with the domain's intentions, we believe there is no alternative. We earnestly beseech your mercy that the landholders of Kamishima Village and Imamura may continue to make their living, and we repeatedly implore your compassion.
