必傳之事二候前々より御制度も
有之候事二付新建又ハ手入
等いたし候とも換て手狭二
いたし建具等も丈夫を
宗としユ手間懸り取続

若無拠訳二壱坪成とも
建廣め度節者文化之度
触尓置通支配所へ願出
可任差図候万一心得違之
もの有之花売を宗とし
大造成致家作候もの於
有之者吟味之上取払等

一きセる箱紙入等織物表
品柄宜高値成と且金銀
堅物之儀者勿論色付青銅
者趣二躰度候間前々より触示
置候通弥相聞可申其外
無善し道具等相求申間敷事

現代語訳
必至の事であるので、前々より御制度も
あることにつき、新築または修繕
等を行う場合も、かえって手狭に
し、建具等も丈夫さを
主として、手間をかけず長持ち
するよう、費用を見合わせて申すべきである。
もしやむを得ない理由で一坪なりとも
建て広めたい時は、文化年間の
触書に置かれた通り、支配所へ願い出て
指図に従うべきである。万一心得違いの
者があり、見栄えを主として
大層な家作をする者が
ある場合は、吟味の上取り払い等を
申し付けること
一、煙草入れ、紙入れ等の織物表、
品柄がよく高価なもの、および金銀
細工物については勿論のこと、色付きや青銅の
ものは趣が贅沢であるので、前々より触書で
置かれた通り、いよいよ相慎むべきである。その外
無用な道具等を求めてはならないこと
一、表紙の日傘、蛇の目傘、露路用
表付きの類は、前々の通りいよいよ停止
することである

This is an essential matter, and since there have been official regulations from long ago,
when conducting new construction or repairs,
one should make them rather compact,
and building fixtures should prioritize
durability over elaborate workmanship, keeping
costs reasonable for long-term use.
If there is an unavoidable reason to expand even by one tsubo,
one should submit a petition to the administrative office
as stipulated in the Bunka-era
proclamation and follow their instructions. Should there be anyone who is misguided
and constructs elaborate houses
prioritizing appearance,
after investigation, demolition and other measures
shall be ordered.
One, Regarding tobacco pouches, paper cases and other textile-covered items,
high-quality and expensive goods, as well as gold and silver
crafted items, and naturally colored or bronze
items which appear luxurious, should be strictly avoided
as previously ordered in proclamations. Furthermore,
unnecessary tools and implements should not be acquired.
One, Paper-covered parasols, snake-eye umbrellas, and
garden path coverings
shall continue to be prohibited as before.
