同十五日、清水丹左衛門殿より仰せ聞かせられ候は、
下り町武七義は目付役にて、役人は御免に
候えども、以来は左の通りに認め差し出すべき旨、仰せ聞かせられ候。

The above was presented in person by Yazaemon, who called upon Sakai Shōzaemon on the 13th day of the 11th month. Respectfully submitted.
On the 15th of the same month, Shimizu Tanzaemon conveyed the following:
Concerning Takeshichi of Kudari-machi, who serves as a metsuke (inspector), town officials are exempted [from the levy]; however, henceforth [his name] should be recorded and submitted as shown on the left.
One item: Cooper (barrel-maker) Kudari-machi Takeshichi
The above is exempt from the water levy (mizu-yaku), owing to his role as metsuke (inspector).
It was conveyed that at the time of submitting the name register, Takeshichi's [name] should also be included in the written record, in the manner described above.
One item: In previous years, name registers were recorded in a horizontal ledger (yoko-chō); however, since the recent issuance of a notice (fure-gaki), it has been conveyed that [records] should be prepared in a horizontal ledger with a cover inscription (uwagaki-tsuki) before being submitted.
