人別ニ而不相成もの弟子ニ致す間敷尤弟子取
致し候節武家勤仕之旨を入宗証人ニ相立
可申元来普化禅宗と唱臨済之支流故専ら
禅宗を相守部門之隠家或は身元難顕抔申
唱候之節ニ無之向後真実之虚無僧而已致し
宗縁助吹等之名目一切相止修行先之儀も都而
諸宗僧侶同様志次第之施物を請相対を以
穏便ニ止宿等致し御用向抔と申唱或ハねたり

若此上不法之者有之候ハヽ其所ニ而差押早々
其筋江可訴出候

【右丁】
人別帳に記載されていない者を弟子にしてはならない。もっとも弟子を取る際は、武家に勤仕している旨を入宗の証人に立てて申し出るべきである。元来普化禅宗と唱えるのは臨済宗の支流であるから、専ら禅宗を守り、部門の隠家あるいは身元を明かし難いなどと申し唱える際ではない。今後は真実の虚無僧のみとし、宗縁・助吹等の名目は一切やめ、修行先の件についても、すべて諸宗の僧侶同様、志に応じた施物を受け、相対により穏便に宿泊等を行い、御用向などと申し唱え、あるいはねだり
【左丁】
がましい儀等を行ってはならない旨を、一宗の者どもへ申し渡したので、もしこの上不法の者があれば、その場で取り押さえ、早々にその筋へ訴え出るべきである。
右の趣旨を御料・私領・寺社領ともに漏れのないよう触れ出すべきである。
十二月
右の通り公儀より御書付が出されたので、町中へ触れ出すべきである。以上

Those not recorded in the population registers should not be accepted as disciples. Moreover, when taking disciples, one must present proof of service to a warrior house as a witness for entry into the sect. Originally, what is called Fuke Zen sect is a branch of Rinzai, so one should exclusively follow Zen teachings. This is not the time to claim to be a hermit of the sect or to say one's identity is difficult to reveal. Henceforth, only true komusō monks shall be permitted, and titles such as "sect connection" and "assistant blowing" shall be entirely discontinued. Regarding training destinations, like monks of all other sects, they shall receive offerings according to donors' intentions, and through mutual agreement conduct lodging and other activities peacefully. They shall not proclaim themselves on "official business" or engage in improper begging

and similar inappropriate behavior. This has been communicated to all members of the sect. If any lawless individuals persist beyond this point, they should be apprehended on the spot and promptly reported to the proper authorities.
The above instructions should be announced without omission to government lands, private domains, and temple lands alike.

As stated above, an official document has been issued from the government, so this should be announced throughout the town. End.
