右十三日に御役所において北野与惣兵衛殿に差し上げ申したところ、御初穂十疋を
お渡しくださり、受け取って若祢宜と共に済ませてお渡し申しました。
恐れながら口上書をもってお願い申し上げます件
私は不調法者でございますが、思いがけず町代御役
を仰せ付けられ、ありがたい仕合せと存じております。
数年来勤めておりましたが、不如意になり勤めが
困難と存じます。これについて御赦免を成し下さいますよう
お願い申し上げます。
右の趣旨で御慈悲をもってお願い申し上げます通り、仰せ付け
くださいましたならば、ありがたい仕合せと存じます。以上 袋町町代

又三郎と内縁もございますので、養子にもらい受けて娘うたと
夫婦にして相続いたしたく存じ、内談いたしました。これについてお願い申し上げます。
右の趣旨で御慈悲をもってお願い申し上げます通り、仰せ付けくださいます
ならば、ありがたい仕合せと存じます。以上 中町 紀伊国屋

Though I am an incompetent person, I was unexpectedly appointed to the position of district representative,
which I consider a most grateful appointment.
I have been serving for several years, but have fallen into financial difficulties and
find it hard to continue serving. Therefore, I request that you grant me
a pardon and release from duty.
Regarding the above matter, if you would graciously grant my petition as requested,
