市之瀬村の初太郎と申す者を、今年辰年から五ヶ年契約で
私の寄弟子として召し抱え、御水役を勤めさせ鍛冶職を習わせたく

右の趣旨について、御慈悲をもって願い上げ申し上げます通りにお命じになり
お許し下さいますならば、ありがたい仕合わせと存じます。以上

I wish to employ one Hatsutaro from Ichinose Village as my boarding apprentice for a five-year term beginning this Year of the Dragon, to have him serve water duties and learn blacksmithing.
Therefore, I submit this petition.
Regarding the above matter, I humbly petition that you mercifully command as I have requested,
and if you would graciously grant permission, it would be a most grateful fortune. The above.
