二十日夜に宿泊した十人の内
二人が持参して置いて逃去し、行方が
分からない。右の鉄砲に心当たりの
者がいるならば、丹波守預かり
所役所へ急いで申し出ること。もし隠し
置いて他から発覚した場合には、当人
村役人共に厳しく申し付けるものである

The official notice is as follows:

The above gun was brought by two out of ten people who lodged at the inn of Zensaemon at Motoyama post station on the Nakasendo road in Matsudaira Tamba-no-kami's territory on the night of the twentieth day of the intercalary sixth month of this year. They left it behind and fled, and their whereabouts are unknown. If anyone has knowledge of this gun, they must immediately report to the office of Tamba-no-kami's territory. Should anyone conceal it and it be discovered by others, strict punishment will be applied to that person and the village officials.
