当町の髪結の件については、これまで決まった規則もなく、それぞれが勝手に商売を行ってきたところ、この度内願する者もいるため、吟味の上、今後は株仲間として定めることとする。商売をしたい者は人柄を調べ、他所の者については請人を立て、その筋へ願い出ること。もっとも、
御法度は申すまでもなく、総じて怠慢な行為を慎み、町中に差し支えなく取り計らうべし。なお詳細については分一方において申し渡すので、その意を得て万事に注意を払い、正当な方法で商売を行うこと。
右の趣旨を町役人へ申し渡すこと

Regarding the matter of hairdressers in this town, there have been no established regulations until now, and each individual has been conducting business as they pleased. However, since there are now those who wish to apply internally, after examination, it has been decided that henceforth this shall be organized as a licensed trade guild (kabu-mono). Those who wish to engage in this trade must have their character investigated, and in the case of outsiders, they must provide guarantors and submit applications through the proper channels. Furthermore,
government prohibitions go without saying, and in general, negligent behavior must be avoided, and affairs must be managed without causing trouble in the town. Details will be communicated at the tax office, so understand this intent and pay careful attention to all matters, conducting business through proper methods.
The above matter shall be communicated to the town officials.
